Bouldering with Taylor Street | Do more of what you love
Bouldering for Taylor Street is more than just climbing rocks. It's a way for her to connect with nature, get stronger, and clear her mind. Check out her story below:
We are in Little Cottonwood Canyon this morning. This is one of my favorite places to climb in Utah. It is all of this beautiful granite rock. Which is just, number one, really really beautiful but also just really really fun to climb on.
I've been climbing in Little Cottonwood for about four and a half five years now. It was one of the first places I came to climb outside.I instantly fell in love with the place. It's really really fun to just be able to come back and gauge your progress at the same place. So that's what we're gonna do today, see if i've made any progress on some of these problems that I've been coming back to for a few years
I'm Taylor. I discovered climbing about four years ago. It was kind of crazy though, getting into it, because my first
experience with climbing was terrifying. I didn't come back to it for about three years. It just was really really scary. Then a few years went by and a friend and I signed up for an all-girls climbing clinic and it made all the difference. Being surrounded by a bunch of women who just also wanted to learn to climb was the most empowering feeling. Ever since then I have not looked back.
I was really drawn to climbing because it seemed like something that allowed you to get into nature, but also get
stronger at the same time. I think more importantly than that, climbing has made such a huge difference in my mental health. When you're fully focused on the climb your problems just seem to kind of drop away.
I think it's super important to do what you love because life is so short. We can go on for days about things we don't love, but I would much rather fill my time with things that I do love and fill my own life with light. I've had a super fun day out here with a Owala and I'm just so grateful that I get to share what I love and I encourage everybody to do the same.
